The Nike Dual Fusion Lite 2 MSL Running Shoe's breathable mesh upper is straddled by a series of synthetic overlays that reinforce its construction without adding undue weight. This delivers a shoe that is simultaneously lightweight, breathable and robust. An additional, thinner mesh layer covers the webbing system to both increase airflow and prevent unwelcome debris from infiltrating the upper.

A midfoot webbing system extends from the midsole and envelopes the foot, integrating with the laces to deliver a supportive, adaptive fit that can be altered whilst tightening the shoe.
