An ultra lightweight, soft, single-layer mesh allows air to fully permeate the Nike Zoom Wildhorse 2 Running Shoe's upper, thereby encouraging an environment that is cooler, drier and altogether more pleasant whilst strategically positioned no-sew overlays straddle it to reinforce its construction and deliver a shoe that is simultaneously robust, flexible and lightweight. A mesh inner sleeve envelopes the foot for a secure, comfortable fit whilst notches positioned across the tongue enable the wearer to both don and remove the shoe with consummate ease. Dynamic Fit technology cinches the midfoot and integrates with the lacing system to deliver a secure, adaptive lockdown that can be manipulated by tightening the shoe.

A moulded sockliner enhances underfoot support, whilst a compression moulded Phylon midsole and Nike Zoom unit work in concert to deliver a blend of forefoot responsiveness and low-profile cushioning, respectively.

An environmentally preferred rubber compound adopts a rugged Waffle outsole configuration to yield a tremendous level of grip and traction on a multitude of surfaces. A succession of aggressively appointed lugs taper to accommodate ascents and descents more efficiently, whilst flex grooves facilitate a smoother, more efficient ride. A bevelled, anatomical heel is designed to allow the foot to roll during heelstrike, significantly attenuating the abruptness of impact and promoting a smoother, more natural range of motion.
